For our client in the surroundings of Amsterdam, we are looking for a Test Automation Engineer (Robot Framework)

Making sure millions of customers get the orders delivered at home with the right quality is where you make a difference. For the domain we are looking for an eager and tech-savvy Test Automation Engineer who above all, cares about quality. In this role you understand the software landscape (Databases, Java/Kotlin), ask relevant questions and take a critical look at the quality of our software and the value we add as a team.

This is how you will reinvent
• You will be the expert on testing and automating tests for a specific team;
• You will work on test improvements, documentation and optimizing test processes;
• You take a critical look at the quality of your software and the value we add as a team;
• You test in isolation and directly with the services, databases and components and automate them where possible to get a higher level of quality and coverage;
• You help the developers by automating tests.

The Back Office domain is all about fulfilling our promises to customers and making sure logistics processes run smooth for all deliveries. We are the part of the Platform, that ensures that all orders placed online; are produced, picked and arrive at our customers homes. As a team we strive to do this as quick, efficient and correct as possible and therefore make a huge impact for our customers.

Your new team and office.
Together with your team you will work on inspiring projects to accelerate our transition into a hybrid Food & Tech company. In 2024 we will start a new team in the Delivery domain working on a fully new solution for route planning and route calculations. You will make impact by delivering software that will reach our ambition to be more efficient, but above all more sustainable in our deliveries to our customers. The team works fully DevOps (standby shifts included) and takes responsibility for the backend software in the Delivery domain. In this project you will work together and align with our external partners to develop a high quality product. Your job is to help the business analyst on gathering requirements, to define a strategy for testing and to perform and automate tests for the product. Based on the strategy and risk profile a part of the testing might be done manually or automated, but that is up to you and the team to decide. You will get a great deal of freedom in this role where you can fully utilize your expertise. You also work together with fellow testers on overall test improvements for the department.

The recipe for maximum impact:
• 5+ years of work experience in Testing, QA or Software Engineering; - Must have
• You are not a freelancer; contracting or "detavast" preferred; - Must have
• You live in the Netherlands, no relocations; - Must have
• Excellent communicator in English (and preferably Dutch); - Must have
• Experience in complex projects running with big (relational) databases or backend systems;
• Experience in Context Driven Testing / Behavior Driven Testing;
• Knowledge of test automation and tools (we use Robot Framework – python knowledge is a pre);
• Keen problem-solving mindset to meet the needs of our customers;
• You enjoy teamwork and making things happen;
